India’s food inflation at 10.35%

Food Articles group eased to 10.35% in theweek ended August 7 from 11.40% in the previous week. It was at14.18% in theyear-ago period. The index for 'Food Articles' group rose by 0.2% to 298.6.

The data issued by the Commerce & Industry ministrytoday revealed that inflation in the Food Articles group eased to 10.35% in theweek ended August 7 from 11.40% in the previous week. It was at14.18% in theyear-ago period. The index for 'Food Articles' group rose by 0.2% to 298.6.

Fuel Group inflation stood at 12.57 % in the week under review versus 12.66 % in theweek ended August 31. Inflation in this group was at -9.88% in thecorresponding week of the last year. The index for this major group declined by 0.1% to 385.9.

Inflation in the Primary Articles space declined to 14.85 % versus15.66% in the preceding week. Inflation in this group stood at 7.85 % duringthe corresponding week of the previous year. The index for this major groupdeclined by 0.06% to 307.8.

Inflation in the Non-Food Articles stood at 21.70% vs -3.59% in theyear-earlier period. The index for 'Non-Food Articles' group declined by 0.6% to 287.7.
