They are the most expensive toys that a man’s money can buy. Private jets are a luxury the mega rich can afford. Even amongst the ones that are available, there are some supremely expensive ones that only those who treat $30 million as change lying around can own. For e.g. Philip Green, the English gazillionaire who lounges around in a Gulfstream G550 or Roman Abramovich, Russian billionaire who has a couple of Boeing jets lying around! The price tag on these big bad boys is justified by the opulence, luxury, super fast speed and spaciousness.
So, let’s get savvy as we may hope to own one someday:
Gulfstream G550
The speed at which light travels could have competition with this mean machine. And that is why you would free up approx $60 million for this beauty! Manufactured by General Dynamics, the Gulfstream is one of the modifications of the Gulfstream V. This craft was introduced to the world in 2003 and has exceeded in performance ever since. The range has been increased to 6750 nautical miles that is 12,500 km. This change has been brought about by reductions in the aerodynamic drag. This aircraft has a ‘Plane View’ cockpit that comprises 4 Honeywell DU-11310 EFIS screens, an Enhanced Vision System (EVS), a Gulfstream tailored cursor control system and an infrared camera that shows an image of the view ahead of the camera on a head up display. The EVS allows the jet to land in low-visibility conditions than a non-EVS equipped jet. What distinguishes it from the Gulfstream V is a seventh passenger window on both sides of the craft and also by the square outflow valve on the right hand side in lieu of a round one in the GV. Over 182 of these stunners have been rolled out since 2008. The State of Kuwait uses it as transportation for their royal families while the United States army; air-force and navy own a few.
Boeing Business Jet 2

They must have one of these in heaven too! This Boeing Business Jet 2 has been designed by the BMW Group Design works USA. With an unparalleled deluxe cabin concept modeled on the wide-body aircraft model Boeing 777, 787 and 747-8[1], this concept replaced the old one. This BBJ 2 is designed to fit 20 passengers luxuriously as compared to the 210-250 in the commercial variety. A master bedroom, two guest bedrooms, a gym, washroom with showers, living area and conference/dining area reside in the BBJ 2. The bar or kitchen floors are made of see-through glass. Is it a wonder then that this loveliness costs a lovely $55.5 million! No. It isn’t.
Bombardier Global Express XRS

As the name is, this one bombards the skies. Being hailed as the most lavish, most successful business jet to be ever built, the Bombardier Global Express XRS is no mean feat. Topping the Global Express lineage and raising the bar, this craft has unbelievable cabin comfort with better performance and higher technology to push productivity while giving peace of mind. It has higher cruise speed, increased range, attractive cabin layout and lighting. With agile brilliance, this Bombardier flies you higher than you can imagine and only at a cost of a mere $47.7 million! Small price to touch the sky!
Dassault Falcon 7X

With the name falcon in it, one needn’t say anymore. The Dassault Falcon Jet Corporation, set up in 1963 designed this jet-engine business aircraft. Dassault Falcon Jet Corporation works as a sister concern of Groupe Industriel Marcel Dassault SA France. With a passenger capacity of 12 and 3 crew members, this jet is cozily perfect. The Falcon 7X is known for its widespread use of computer-aided design, claiming it to be the first aircraft to provide an entirely designed virtual platform for only $40 million.
Go on and reach for the stars!
