Incorporated in May '88 as a public limited company, Chetak Spintex was promoted by G S Agarwal and G L Agarwal. The company started its activities with trading of polypropylene yarn. In 1990, it diversified its activities to produce polypropylene draw textured yarn at their plant at Bakhapur, Haryana, with an installed capacity of 273 tpa.
In 1991, the company undertook an expansion programme to set up facilities for twisting polypropylene yarn. In 1995-96, the company proposed to integrate backward by setting up a 24 ends spinning plant for polypropylene partially-oriented yarn (PP POY) and also to increase the capacities for texturising and twisting. It came out with a public issue in Feb.'96 to part-finance its project.
To keep pace with the growth of the company it proposes to implement an expansion programme to manufacture Polyester/Nylon and other line of textile products.
CPL's products are marketed under the brand 'Amlon'. It also exports to Nepal.
The total production of Crimp Yarn during the year 1250.00 MT.
