Originally promoted by Santosh Kumar Bhagat and Sanjay Kumar Bhagat as Kamini Steel Re-rolling Mills Pvt Ltd in 1986, Kamini Ispat commenced rolling of steel sections in its factory at Bollaram, Medak district, in 1987. Taken over by Mahesh Chand Agarwal and associates in Jul.'89, it became a deemed public limited company in Jul.'94 and subsequently in Nov.'94, its name was changed to the present one. It was converted into a public limited company in 1995.
The company manufactures MS-angles, channels and 12-16mm CTD bars with an installed capacity of 12,000 tpa, which was increased to 15,672.5 tpa in Apr.'95.
In Jan.'96, the company came out with a public issue to part-finance the proposed expansion of its manufacturing facilities in a different location at Kallakal (Toopran Mandal, Medak district), Andhra Pradesh.
During 1996-97, company could not achieve projected results due to delay in implementation of the expansion project as the call money is yet to be received from most of the shareholders.
