Kitti Steels (KSL) was incorporated in 1987 as Winsoe Therm and the name was changed to the present one in 1993. It was taken over by the present managing director H S Sethi in 1991, who is now the chief promoter of the company. He has interests in other companies, namely, Kitti Engineers, Kitti Fabs, etc.
In Sep.'94, the company came out with a public issue of 82 lac equity shares aggregating Rs 8.2 cr to part-finance expansion and diversification at a total cost of Rs 46.50 cr.
KSL is engaged in machine building and providing spare parts for continuous process industries such as cement, sponge iron, chemicals, oil and natural gas. It has entered into technical-cum-financial collaboration with Maschinen Und Verfahrenstechnik Bernard Blatton (MVT), a German design engineering company and one of the world leaders in design of equipment for continuous process industries. KSL also has technical arrangement with Aubema, Germany for crushers and mineral equipments.
Foreign exchange earnings of KSL in 1994-95 amounted to Rs 2.41 cr. Some of the major customers of KSL include DLF Cement, Jaypee Bela Cement, Mideast Integrated Steels, etc. KSL is certified by Lloyds Register Industrial Services (India), an associate of the world's best known certification agency and approved by M N Dastur and Company, India's prime consultants for large integrated plants as a reliable supplier of capital equipments.
