Promoted by Janak Doshi in Mar.'90, NDPL acquired a running unit in Sep.'92 in Kolhapur. In 1991, the pasteurised milk was test-marketed in Bombay under the Nikumbh brand by taking the processing machinery on short lease.
It produces milk products -- shrikhand, flavoured milk and ghee -- at Kolhapur. The company set up another unit at Shahpur and increased its capacity of flavoured milk and shrikhand.
The Rs 6.7 cr project expansion was part-financed through a Rs 2.71-cr issue in Jul.'93, promoters' contribution of Rs 99 lac, and a term loan of Rs 2.15 cr. NDPL markets the pasteurised milk in and around Bombay. The company has an installed capacity of one lac ltr per day of liquid milk and by-products such as flavoured milk, lassi, shrikand, etc. It has co-promoted a 100% EOU at Lonavala to produce 3000 tpa of white button mushroom.
