Patodia Polytex was incorporated on Feb.'82 as Vani Tex Industries. In Mar.'82, it was converted into a public limited company and renamed Patodia Polytex and presently to Patodia Textiles Industries Ltd. It is the flagship of the D N Patodia group and is promoted by Dewakinandan Patodia and his brothers.
The company is in the business of cotton yarn, synthetic yarn, polyester texturised yarn, manmade fabrics, etc.
PPL has successfully implemented the expansion project by installing fully computerised high-speed texturising machine.It has expanded its Achhad unit in Thana, Maharashtra, by installing additional texturising machines and up-twisters with a capacity of 1410 tpa.
The company plans to diversify into the manufacture of cement, paper and chemicals, spinning, Knitting, etc. It has acquired a mani cement plant at Sikar, Rajasthan.
During 1995-96, the company has decided to set up a Wind Power project of 2 M.V. for captive consumption by installing 10 Wind Turbine Generators at Dhank near Rajkot. The cost of the project is Rs 850 Lacs and it is part financed by Industrial Development Bank Of India (IDBI) by way of Internal Accurals. The company has also increased the capacity of Twisting Spindles by 5280 Nos and Texturising Spindles by 1220 Nos.
