Promoted by D S Batra, Rajinder Steels was incorporated on 11 Sep.'84 and went public in 1986. The company is engaged in the manufacture of steel, slabs, hot-rolled and cold-rolled coils, electric resistance welded pipes (both black and galvanised), precision steel tubes, and cold rolled formed sections. The products of the company find extensive usage in minor irrigation projects, drinking water supply, construction engineering, petrochemicals, automobiles and white goods industries.
The company has retained the services of Singh & Associates to provide technical consultancy for its projects. It came out with a fully convertible debenture issue in Apr.'94 to part-finance its projects of hot-rolled coils and to expand the capacity of the tube mill from 35,000 tpa to 60,000 tpa.
It has established a communication network, using VSAT, connecting its corporate office in Bombay and factories in Kanpur and Raipur.
The company has established an office in Singapore to promote exports. To improve its presence in the international steel sector, the company has promoted Rajinder Mauritius, in Mauritius. It is building substantial infrastructure to take up both forward and backward integration projects. Plans for expansion are being given final shape.
