Subsequently, the name of the company was changed to its current name, i.e. 'Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd' on December 8, 2011 and a fresh certificate of incorporation consequent to change of name was issued by the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat, Dadar and Nagar Haveli. The registered office of the company is located at Vadodara, Gujarat.
The company is engaged in the business of manufacturing, designing, building and servicing technologically advanced products and systems for electricity network, including products such as transformers, medium voltage switchgears, protection relays and electricity distribution management systems and software.
The business of the company comprises of the demerged undertaking that was transferred to it by ALSTOM T&D pursuant to the Scheme of Demerger, which became effective on November 26, 2011. The company has 9 manufacturing facilities in India spread over 5 locations, i.e. in Vadodara (3 units), Kolkata (2 units), Chennai (1 unit), Naini (2 units) and Noida (1 unit) and has 4 regional offices and 13 branch/sales offices located across the country.
The company's major customers are electrical distribution (utilities) and power generation companies in public as well as private sector and companies in electro-intensive industry particularly oil & gas and metals related.
