Shrishma Fine Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals (SFCPL) was incorporated in Jul.'81. It was promoted by the Chaturvedi Group and KSIIDC. The promoters have interests in other companies which include Anand Tanks & Vessels, ATV Engineers, Chaturvedi Investments, etc. The company is managed by chairman and managing director Dr R N Goel and joint managing director S R Goel.
The company came out with a public issue of 34 lac equity shares and 2 lac 15% NCDs of Rs 100, aggregating Rs 5.40 cr in 1986, to meet part of the capital cost and expansion project of the aspirin and salicyclic acid plant at Bangalore, and to meet long-term working capital needs. The total cost of the project was estimated at Rs 10.47 cr. Its products include aspirin, analgin, salicyclic acid, paracetamol and ibuprofen. Shrishma has entered into a technical-equity collaboration with Mentholatum, UK, for the manufacture and marketing of various world-renowned OTC formulations in India. The company plans to manufacture antibiotics.
During the year 1998-99, the Company has been registered as a sick unit under the Sick Industrial Companies ( Special Provisions) Act, 1985 and an Operating Agency has been appointed. The Company has submitted a financial package which is under clearance by the Operating Agency.
