National carrier Air India is seeking a bailout from the government and has managed to increase the money it makes from its passengers by Rs 2.35bn in the three months beginning November 2009, according to a report,
The report stated that the government-owned airline has managed to earn Rs 25.85bn from fliers in the period November 2009 to January 2010, compared with Rs 23.50bn in the same period last year.
The airline’s load factor — passengers carried as compared to capacity — has gone up by 10% points to 74% in January, report adds.
