As per latest release from Punjab State food and supplies department officials, wheat procurement in Punjab has crossed the 125 lakh tonnes mark during the current season, The total procurement of wheat till Thursday evening (17th May 2012 ) has been 12,585,758 tonnes,
An official spokesman of the department said government agencies have procured over 124.89 lakh tonnes wheat so far, which is over 99 percent of the total arrival of wheat at the nearly 1,750 procurement centres across the state.
