As per the latest release by Cotton Advisory Board, state wise Cotton arrivals stood at 31.69 million bales as on 20 May 2012, this is higher by 4% from the arrivals seen on 6 May 2012. Arrivals in the same period last year were 31.85 million bales. Arrivals from the Northern region totalled 5.5 million bales on 20 May 2012, compared to 4.54 million bales last year. Central region arrivals totalled 18.33 million bales compared to 20.1 million bales last year. Arrivals from Southern region was 7.46 million bales as on 20 May 2011 compared to 6.81 million bales in same period last year. The summary of state wise arrivals is shown in the table below:
