As per latest weekly crop condition report by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA ) , United State soyabean crop at the week's ended on 22nd July 2012 was reported to be 31 percent in good to excellent condition , down 3 percentage points from last week and 31 percentage points below the same time last year.
Seventy-nine percent of this year's soybeans were at or beyond the blooming stage by July 22, twenty-five percentage points ahead of last year and 19 points ahead of the 5-year average. Rapid crop development was evident in most of the major growing regions during the week.
By week's end, 36 percent of the soybean crop was setting pods, 23 percentage points ahead of last year and 17 points ahead of the 5-year average. Above-average temperatures promoted pod setting, with double-digit progress evident in 14 of the 18 major producing states during the week.
