Alstom T&D India has been awarded two contracts from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL)-the central transmission utility of the country, worth of 2250 MINR. The Contract worth 750 MINR is for supply, testing, erection and commissioning of 765 kV auto transformers for substation of PGCIL at Ranchi in the state of jharkhand (Eastern India) and another contract worth 1500 MINR is for supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 765 kV auto transformers for Dharamjaygarh and Aurangabad substations of PGCIL in the states of Chattisgarh (Central India) and Maharashtra (Western India) respectively whiLh is the largest order for the company in the auto transformer segment.
Alstom T&D India has received an order for delivering 500 MVA 765 kV single phase auto transformers for the substations. The project will help in establishing transmission systems for upcoming independent power producer (IPP) projects and efficient bulk power evacuation.
Transformers will be delivered from Alstom T&D India's world class manufacturing facility at Vadodara in Gujarat state, western India. The facility has been operational since April 2003 and was a pioneer in building India's first indigenous 765 kV transformer in 2010, Alstom T&D India holds strong leadership; in 765 kV Alternating Current technology with all products manufactured locally and is geared to build the backbone of India's future electrical grid at 765 kV voltage level-
