The Ambani family assembled in Chorwad, the native place of late Dhirubhai Ambani in Junagarh district of Gujarat to mark the 80th birth anniversary of the patriarch.
The most interesting part about this family gathering is the rare meeting of brothers Mukesh and Anil. They will be meeting each other for the first time in a long time.
"I am happy with the progression of both brothers. Both brothers are coming to Chorwad. This shows that they are together," Kokilaben Ambani was quoted as saying.
"There is love between the two brothers," she said, adding that the two siblings do not have any differences and are together now.
The two brothers are scheduled to inaugurate the Dhirubhai Ambani memorial in the presence of their mother Kokilaben on Wednesday. Daughters Dipti Salgaonkar and Neena Kothari were also present at the occasion.
Dhirubhai Ambani died in July 2002. The two brothers split the Reliance empire in 2006. In 2010, they scrapped a non-compete agreement signed in 2006 as part of the family settlement.
Meanwhile, shares of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) companies mostly rose today in a weak market. RCOM was the top winner, up 5% on the day. Reliance Capital and Reliance Infra gained ~0.5% each.
Reliance Mediaworks was up over 3% while Reliance Broadcast Network advanced 2.5%. But, Reliance Power came off session highs to close down 2%.
Reliance Industries was down 1% while Reliance Industrial Infrastructure was up nearly 2%.
