Ashok Leyland Ltd. on Thursday said that its total commercial vehicle sales in January grew by 33.57% to 10,300 units. The company had sold 7,711 units in the corresponding period of 2011.
Ashok Leyland said that its January sales included sales of 1,100 units of the new small commercial vehicle Dost.
Excluding Dost, total sales in January were up 19% from last year at 9,200 units, the Hinduja group company said.
Year-to-date, the company's total vehicle sales are up 6% at 76,621 units versus 72,137 units in the corresponding period of the last financial year.
This includes 3,800 units of the Dost SCV.
