Asian stocks fell, amid speculation Greece may be nearing a default on its sovereign debt, according to a report.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index fell 1.9% to 118.51, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 Stock Average dropped 2%.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index sank 3.3%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index slumped 3.2 percent.
Markets in South Korea, China and Taiwan are closed today for holidays.
