Bajaj Auto sales up 8% in January

Exports last month were up 13% at 116,996 units.

Bajaj Auto Ltd. said on Thursday that its total vehicle sales in January rose by 8% to 337,875 units.


Bajaj Auto's motorcycle sales last month grew 7% year-on-year to 294,439 units while commercial vehicle sales were up 14% at 43,436 units.


Exports last month were up 13% at 116,996 units. The growth in exports during January was slower than the 25% growth registered in December.

During April-January 2011-12 period, Bajaj Auto's total sales were up 15% at 36.70 lakh units.
