Soybean producers from Mato Grosso do Sul have nearly finished the harvest of the 2009/10 crop. With favorable climate for the past seven days - including a good volume of rainfall, so much expected for corn second-crop planting - the harvest is well advanced in the main producing regions of the state.
Unlike last year, when the weather hindered productivity, this season is of full crop in Mato Grosso do Sul, the fifth largest producer in Brazil. The latest report by Safras & Mercado, released on February 22, indicated a crop of 5.162 million tons, up 21% from last year, which stayed at 4.260 million tons.
