Spot rubber prices dropped further on Wednesday (08 August 2012). Sharp declines in the domestic and international futures and the absence of quantity buyers weighed heavily over the sentiments. The trend was partially mixed. Sheet rubber weakened to Rs 177 (178.50) per kg and the grade dropped to Rs 177.50 (179) per kg.
In futures, the August series declined to Rs 172.50 (176.60), September to Rs 168 (172.44), October to Rs 167.87 (172.41), November to Rs 168.45 (172.74) and December to Rs 177.86 (185.27) per kg for RSS 4 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 177 (178.50); RSS-5: 171.50 (172); ungraded: 165 (165); ISNR 20: 160 (163) and latex 60 per cent: 120 (121).
