EGP-University of Porto Business School (EGP-UPBS) has been chosen by Carnegie-Mellon University (CMU) from Pittsburgh (USA), one of the leading universities in technology, for the worldwide launching of a Dual Degree innovative program that will allow students to simultaneously earn a Master in Engineering degree from CMU and a Magellan MBA diploma from EGP-UPBS.
In practice, this program will have a total duration of 24 months, with one year being spent in Pittsburg (USA) and another one in Porto (Portugal) at both EGP-UPBS and FEUP- Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. Among the reasons for this agreement between EGP-UPBS and CMU is the growing need felt by companies of recruiting highly qualified professionals able to combine a strong technological expertise with an acute sense of business along with excellent skills in leadership, negotiation or team management, the combination of which can dramatically improve their ability to create value in an organization.
“This agreement is a clear acknowledgement of the high quality of the MBA programs and management training at EGP-UPBS. We are certain that this partnership will bring many benefits for our current students and Alumni, while having also a major impact on our School’s reputation and growing international network” stated Nuno Sousa Pereira, Dean of EGP-UPBS.
"We applaud this program as it gives our students and professors increased access to both the global marketplace and international companies anxious to employ tomorrow's savvy tech leaders,"said Pradeep K. Khosla, the Dowd University Professor and dean of CMU's top-ranked College of Engineering.
