After much ado, the meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers on telecom pricing took place and the panel approved payments for mobile-phone spectrum in installments, reports said.
While CDMA companies will pay 25% of the airwave payments as a first installment, GSM operators will pay 35% of the airwave payments as a first installment.
Reports added that both GSM and CDMA players would get a 2-year moratorium on the payments after the first installment and the rest of the payment due is to be paid in 10 equal installments.
