India Infoline News Service / 11:01 , Apr 22, 2010

The 3G-6200n features a built-in Ethernet WAN port to connect a cable or xDSL modem and a USB 2.0 port for UMTS/HSDPA mobile Internet services or Backup on to an external USB drive.

Edimax introduces its 3G-6200n; a multifunction wireless Broadband Router. This router offers the flexibility to share either a 3G/3.5G connection or a XDSL/Cable connection with all network users. The 3G-6200n features a built-in Ethernet WAN port to connect a cable or xDSL modem and a USB 2.0 port for UMTS/HSDPA mobile Internet services or Backup on to an external USB drive.

Connected to a 3G USB modem card, the router enables users to share a 3G connection with data transfer rates up to 7.2 Mbps. When connected to an xDSL or cable modem it supports data transfer rates up to 150 Mbps and a significantly increased wireless coverage with support for the latest wireless technology (802.11n standard). The 3G-6200n offers extra flexibility by enabling users to centrally backup the data onto an external USB Drive or create a fail over function. If the primary broadband line is down the user can switch over to the USB 3G broadband services like Tata or Reliance, the user also has the flexibility to set the primary and secondary options for both the broadband services.

The 3G-6200n is easy to install and manage with the included multilingual EZMax setup wizard and the integrated EZView management. Within the EZView interface users can manage the router locally or remotely through the Internet. In addition, the EZView interface allows users to detect all connected UPnP compatible devices in the network and manage information such as bandwidth, IP address, open ports and DMZ of each device. To simplify the configuration of wireless security, the router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) technology which enables users to set up advanced wireless security, simply by pushing the pairing button on the router.

Announcing the same Mr. Eric, Edimax who has recently taken over the operations in India said, “For us India has always been an important market from the growth prospective. The new 3G routers enable the user with faster transfer speeds and also act as multi-utility devices. For us this just the beginning and you will see more innovation in the near future.”
