GIIS Imbibes in Students Gandhian Thoughts and Values

Each Global Indian International School Campus has the statue of the great Mahatma, whose values and thoughts of non-violence are taught to the students GIIS also focuses on integrity and ethical practices, team work, honesty with the right ambience for learning.

At Global Indian International School (GIIS), Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Values and Thoughts (MGCVT) was conceived to give students valuable insights into the experiences and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. GIIS focuses very firmly on character building in their educational curriculum.


Each Global Indian International School Campus has the statue of the great Mahatma, whose values and thoughts of non-violence are taught to the students GIIS also focuses on integrity and ethical practices, team work, honesty with the right ambience for learning.


Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Values and Thoughts was unveiled at the GIIS Noida today, where the centre displays autobiographical literature on Mahatma Gandhi in Hindi and English. It also exhibits publications, journals, periodicals and books on various subjects connected to India’s freedom struggle, Ancient Indian Civilization, Indian Philosophy, works of great leaders among others.


The MGCVT of Global Indian International School, Noida was inaugurated by Justice C.S. Dharmadhikari (Vice-President, Global Schools Foundation). Justice C.S. Dharmadhikari serves as the Chairman of Gandhi Smarak Nidhi in Delhi. He is an Independence Movement activist, a lawyer, a judge and an author. 


He was acting chief justice of Bombay High Court. As of September 2011, he is Chairman of the Bombay High Court appointed Committee to Monitor Animal Welfare Laws in Maharashtra. He is also associated with the Maharashtra State as well as National Women’s Commission. He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2004.


At the inaugural ceremony held at GIIS centre, Noida, he said,” Five Years in the Life of an Institution is beginning of awareness, which develops the attitude of enquiry and search for the best. The Youngest Generation in any school is the hope of the World, the seed of a future classless society of all humanity. 


We do not want only excellence but perfection as our goal. Therefore, our motto is, to look for the best. We should develop a culture of peace, which means the art of living together, as good neighbours and friends. This is the essence of globalization of education.”


Mr. Atul Temurnikar, Chairman and Co-Founder, Global Schools Foundation said, “Global School Foundation believes in the holistic growth of children.  The Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Value and Thoughts is our way to help the children develop into a whole person.”


The students of GIIS Noida sang Gandhi bhajans along with children of Sai Kripa, orphanage. The children performed a ballet on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. The children honoured the centre by spinning the wheel. 


GIIS Parents listened spell-bound to the words of Justice Dharmadhikari as he shared his personal experience and learning that he had received from the Mahatma. They were happy and contented with GIIS’s endeavour to build integrity and character in the students.
