Global Schools Foundation (GSF) was initiated with the aim of providing quality education to the expatriate community in Singapore. The Foundation has completed 11 exemplary years marked by international recognition for achieving excellence in school education.
Following high standards in governance, established academic criteria, and well-administered management processes, the Foundation's mission is to cultivate and nurture its students into global leaders of the future. Every year Sir CV Raman GIIS Junior college Scholarships are awarded by GSF to deserving Indian students for grade 11 and 12 - IB and CBSE board to study at Global Indian International School Queenstown, Singapore.
This year 9 students have been awarded this prestigious scholarships from various parts of the country. All the students come with excellent academic records and have scored above 90% in their board exams and are selected only after qualifying a competitive entrance test and aptitude test basis group discussion, psycho-metric tests and personal interview.
The students selected are Ashar Alam from Ranchi, Stuti Arya from Delhi NCR, Bhooshan Kelkar from Pune and Ashish Kumar Aggarwal from Delhi, Shivam Kumar from Patna, Vasundhra Iyengar from Chennai, Bhumika Lamba from Chandigarh, Naman Sharma from Agra and Kanika Gakhar from Bangalore.
The Sir CV Raman GIIS Junior College Scholarship amounts to S$ 66,000 (Singapore dollars) per student which includes all tuition fees, boarding, lodging and travel expenses at the Queenstown Campus in Singapore. The one time settling allowance allotted by GIIS is S$500 while the students receive S$ 200 per month for their pocket expenses.
The occasion was graced by Prof. Aftab Seth, Country Director, GIIS Japan and former Ambassador of India to Greece, Vietnam and Japan. In 2007, he established the NPO Japan-India Partnership Forum and became Founder Chairman. After retiring t from his career as a diplomat, in 2004, he became a professor at Keiyo University, Tokyo. (till 2008).
At the felicitation ceremony held at Radission Blu, Noida he said “It gives me immense pleasure to felicitate these nine meritorious students who are the future leaders of our country.
