Global Indian International School(GIIS), a chain of schools present in seven international countries and is focused towards shaping well-rounded global citizens, recently organized an Open House on Global Education. With a proven track record of running 22 Schools in 8 Countries, GIIS brings a combination of global exposure and an Indian value system and culture for children.
The Open House session was conducted to give parents an opportunity to clear all doubts and apprehensions while choosing on the best school for their child. The education symposium provided parents with food for thought as to what should be the guiding factor that would ensure over-all growth of their children. GIISbelieves that education is not just about academics but about holistic development of an individual.
It was attended by a large number of parents seeking admission. At the event parents had an opportunity to interact with the principal, Punam Singhal, who spoke about her vision for nurturing the dreams of their children. She also spoke about her direction and concept that will lead her towards creating the next group of GIIS little champs.
GIIS strongly believes in its Nine Gems teaching methodology which is an integrated holistic approach to learning, balancing academics and experience, mental and physical development, fine arts and performing arts, language skills and creativity, personality development, ethics and entrepreneurship. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Doraiswamy, Global COO & Deputy CEO, GSF highlighted the importance of global education and the level of awareness parents today need to have in order to help them prepare for the future in a borderless society. He said, “Professional expertise, specialization of an international stature and understanding of a global culture are going to be a prerequisite for the future generation. Global education is a must for today’s children to be leaders of tomorrow’s global India.”
Rajeev Katyal, Country Director, GIIS India, said “It is important to subject a child to global education for the overall development of the students. We have international knowledge exchange programme for students and teachers and various other qualities that sis beneficial for the holistic development of the child.”
H.E. Dr. T.N. Chaturvedi, Former Governor of Karnataka, graced the occasion and spoke about the importance of the Global Education in today’s day and age. He said, “Global Education is the core of the education system today. GIIS is bringing together what we thought was not possible for another few years. It is a new mean to equip children to live together in the world with equality and address the different dimensions of Global society that we live in today.”
Also present on the occasion was guest speaker, Kamal Meattle, Director & CEO of GreenSpacesTM&Paharpur Business Centre & Software Technology Incubator Park (PBC), and an environmentalist. He said, “Global Education is a platform where we can cordially discuss and improve on social, ecological, environmental issues in order to derive new ways of making necessary modifications.”
