In continuation with its endeavor to encourage Robotics in Education- Genesis Global School together with Techtronics Education brought the 3rd edition of FIRST LEGO League (FLL) India 2011 to Delhi. This year the central theme of the competition was “2011 Food Factor Challenge”, and children from schools across Delhi showcased their ingenuity in Robotics at the Delhi chapter of FLL at the Genesis Global School, Noida. The children of Genesis Global School won the Best Project Presentation.
Pramod Sharma, Principal Genesis Global School said “We have always encouraged such activities in school which can impart knowledge to our children and this year after winning the Best Project Presentation we are happy that our efforts paid off”.
Sudhanshu Sharma, MD Techtronics Education (India) Limited, announcing the event said, “Techtronics Education in India is committed to the core cause of learning by doing. We have achieved great response to our initiatives from children, teachers, parents, schools and education institutes across India. This is apparent by the increasing level of participation and competition at the Indian Robot Olympiad and FIRST LEGO League. In this 3rd edition of FLL we hope to see a great show from these little geniuses who hold the promise to make the country proud at the world stage.”
FLL is a robotics competition for 9 to 16 year-old children, designed to get children enthusiastic about the practical aspects of science and technology. The Indian edition of FLL is organized by Techtronics Education along with their venue partners Genesis Global School and will have more than 80 teams from across the country. The FLL includes Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi in its list of centers for the competition. The top teams from these four cities will represent India at the 2011 FLL World Festival, St. Louis, USA in April 2012. These teams will also participate in other regional Open Championships in other countries.
