style="text-align: justify; margin: 0px">The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas went down to US$ 111.25/barrel (bbl) on 18.10.2012.
This was lower than US$ 111.79/bbl on the previous trading day’s figures 17.10.2012.
In rupee terms however the crude oil price declined only marginally to Rs 5892.91 per bbl on 18.10.2012 as compared to Rs 5896.92 per bbl on 17.10.2012.
The rupee depreciation with rupee-dollar exchange rate on 18.10.2012 at Rs 52.97/US$ against Rs 52.75/US$ on 17.10.2012, eroded most of the gains of account of fall in crude oil prices in dollar terms.
