Private insurer HDFC Life said it had sold over 4,000 policies of its Smart Woman Plan launched in June.
The company said that it has received a good response for Smart Woman Plan which is designed to cover specialised risks concerning women, including pregnancy complications and cancer.
The average premium per policy was around Rs. 30,000. The private insurance player had launched the unit-linked plan last month targeting working women in urban areas.
Premiums paid under this plan are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Under Section 10 (10D), the benefits received from this policy are exempt from tax.
