With sales of 389,802 units in the month of January 10, Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML), the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer for nine consecutive years, has started the new calendar year (2010) with its best-ever January sales, carrying forward the fast-paced momentum of last year.

The company’s January sales represent a growth of almost 23.5%. Hero Honda had sold 315,458 units of two-wheelers in January 2009.

According to Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Hero Honda Motors Ltd, “Our sales numbers for January provide an excellent start to the calendar year, 2010. The sales growth we have achieved is significant in light of the high base that we created in the same period last year. The growth has accrued from across regions and across segments. We are pleased with our consistent performance, as we have been reporting sales of more than 3 lakh units for 13 consecutive months now.

“Going forward, we have three new product launches planned in the next two months taking the total number of launches to nine this fiscal. Further, Hero Honda will also bring loads of sporting excitement to its customers this year as it is associated with four global sporting events in India.”

The consistent growth has been propelled by several factors. The company has been continuously investing in innovative and ground-breaking brand-building initiatives. Hero Honda has so far launched six new models during this financial year- the exciting ZMR, the refreshed Hunk, the Limited Edition 1 crore Splendor, the new-age Passion Pro, the refreshed Pleasure and the new Splendor NXG with APDV engine.
