Institute of Apparel Management, one of the leading fashion and apparel institutes organized an interactive and unique workshop on “how to increase efficiency in apparel industry through lean manufacturing” in its campus premises recently.
The workshop was organized to give clear understanding of various functional production systems and the lean manufacturing techniques with the help of simulations and role plays. The talk point for the workshop was the strengths and weakness of existing systems, key principles of various production systems, awareness of lean manufacturing techniques and the best practices to achieve lesser lead times and better inventory control.
This workshop was an interactive session and promoted experiential learning through the use of lectures, case studies, role plays and classroom exercises. This workshop was attended by professionals working with production/purchase/merchandising/fashion coordination departments as operational managers. This workshop has benefited them a lot by improving their knowledge about contemporary strategies of lean manufacturing and increasing their ability to cope up with pressures of reducing lead times.
