IFIM Business School Bangalore, today, initiated their Orientation programme for the 2012-14 batch. The 17thbatch of this prestigious institute was welcomed with the theme for this year- “Get the Wind Beneath your Wings”. A new academic curriculum for the year, was also unveiled.
The orientation programme – was graced by Dr. R.S. Nirjar, Executive Chairman, IFIM Business School and Dr. N Jayasankaran, Advisor, IFIM Business School. The Chief Guest for the occasion was C. Mahalingam, Executive Vice President & Global Chief People Officer, Symphony Teleca Corporation, amongst several other important guests from the corporate world and renowned academicians.
Dr. N Jayasankaran, introduced the new curriculum that stresses on the need of creating a dynamic management curriculum that would aim at creating ‘continually employable’ professionals. The curriculum also focuses on the need of all round personality development. Through this curriculum IFIM introduces the system of Androgogy that help students develop insights beyond concepts and cases. Other than being a rigorous academic module, this curriculum lays special emphasis on holistic personality development, wellness and core skill areas enhancement, in line with IFIM’s vision of ‘creating holistic, socially responsible and continuously employable professionals’.
Speaking at the occasion, Prof Bramh Prakash Pethiya, Director, IFIM Business School, Bangalore said, This is not a mere induction for the students, it is the first step towards introducing the philosophy and values, that makes IFIM a life-long learning centre. Our specially designed curriculum also stresses on this all round personality development. We have revamped the curriculum introducing several pioneering steps like a IIP (Industry Induction Programme) for 4 months in the last term, that makes the students industry ready.”
Sharing his views, Dr. R.S. Nirjar, Executive Chairman, IFIM Business School, said, “We at IFIM make a constant endeavour to create Business Managers and not just functional heads.
