Bill Gates appreciates India’s achievements in healthcare
Bill Gates along with his team called on the Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad. In a meeting that lasted close to an hour and half, issues relating to Immunization programme, Pentavalent vaccine, HIV/AIDS, Infectious as well as Non-communicable Diseases were discussed. Mr Gates was particularly appreciative of India’s achievements in containing AIDS infections, Polio management, Reproductive Health initiatives as also recent steps taken for TB management. He said in fact that strides made by India go beyond his expectations.
Azad thanked the Bill Gates Foundation for extending catalytic support to innovations in health, particularly in HIV/AIDS and Polio. He said that support from Gates Foundation is valuable. Shri Azad mentioned that year 2012 has been declared the year of intensification of routine immunization programme and recently the Mission Steering Group of NRHM has endorsed the introduction of Pentavalent vaccine in six more states viz. Gujarat, Goa, Pondicherry, Karnataka, J&K and Haryana.
Infosys BPO COO Ritesh Idnani resigns: reports
Infosys BPO senior vice president and chief operating officer Ritesh Idnani has resigned, according to reports.
Swami Swaminathan, CEO & MD of Infosys BPO has reportedly said that Ritesh Idnani responsibilities have already been assumed by other leaders in Infosys BPO.
An MBA in finance and marketing from Delhi University, Idnani was considered one of the rising stars in the company ever since he joined Infosys in 1999, says report.
Wipro receives APIIC notice for creating fewer jobs: reports
Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has reportedly issued a show cause notice to Wipro for not generating enough jobs as promised by it, according to reports.
Reports stated that APIIC is the nodal agency in Andhra Pradesh for development and allotment of land for companies to set up their facilities.
Wipro is not the only company that received the notices on this count, while Infosys too received similar notices last year for alleged failure to honour its commitment on creation of jobs at its Pocharam facility.
Infosys had reportedly said that the development phases got delayed because of non-provision of basic infrastructure as promised by the corporation.

Worldwide IT Operations Management Software market grew 9% in 2011: Gartner
Worldwide IT operations management (ITOM) software revenue totalled $18.3 bn in 2011, an increase of 8.7 percent from 2010, according to Gartner, Inc.
"The market showed growth for the second consecutive year, after a sharp decline in 2009, despite slow economic growth, tight IT budgets, and merger and acquisition activity," said Laurie Wurster, research director at Gartner. "We saw consistent resilience in 2011, with the ITOM software market expanding both in terms of revenue and worldwide markets."

Infosys celebrates decade of its Foundation Programme at its Mysore Campus
Infosys, a global leader in consulting and technology, is celebrating a decade of its Foundation Programme, a training programme for entry level engineering graduates at the Infosys Global Education Center, one of the world’s largest corporate universities located in Mysore. This is a 23-week residential training programme designed to aid students’ transition from the academic world to the corporate world, as qualified professionals.
The programme is focused on imparting generic and stream-specific training in various technology areas, along with soft skills and leadership programmes, to engineering graduates who join Infosys every year.
Mahindra Satyam inaugurates a delivery centre for Aerospace & Defense
Mahindra Satyam, a leading global consulting, Engineering and IT services provider, today announced the setting up of an exclusive delivery centre for Aerospace and Defense in Toulouse, France. This is a part of the company’s larger strategy of expanding the European footprint with a focus to strengthen relationships with regional Aerospace and Defense businesses. The centre is Mahindra Satyam’s second such investment after setting up its first dedicated Aerospace centre in Hamburg, Germany in 2008.
The new centre is expected to ramp-up operations and create opportunities for local talent in Engineering, Information Technology and Communications domains.

US judge dismisses Oracle's copyright claims against Google: reports
US judge dismissed Oracle's copyright claims against Google for parts of the Java programming language, according to reports.
Reports stated that the ruling from a San Francisco federal judge is the latest blow to Oracle in its lawsuit against Google.
Apple is scheduled for trial in US courts against Google's Motorola Mobility unit in June, and against Samsung in July, says report.
Apple CEO wants to make more products in USA: reports
Apple Inc Chief Executive Tim Cook reportedly said that he would like to see more of the company’s products assembled at home than in China and contain more U.S. components such as semiconductors.
Apple has been criticized for relying on low-cost Asian manufacturers to assemble its products and for contributing to the decline of the U.S. manufacturing sector, reports said.
Google files complaint in Europe against Microsoft, Nokia: reports
Google has filed Complaint in Europe against Microsoft and Nokia accusing them of illegally feeding mobile patents to a technology troll scavenging for billions of dollars in licensing fees that threaten to drive up the prices of cellphones and other wireless devices.
Reports stated that the claims were spelled out in a complaint filed with the European Commission.
Microsoft Corp. brushed off Google's accusations as the "desperate tactic" of a company facing regulatory questions about its dominance of online search and digital advertising, reports said.
Genpact and Ariba expand alliance to deliver procure-to-pay solution
