JSPL aims to commission new facilities with capacity of 3mn tons: reports

JSPL is also setting up an iron ore beneficiation plant of 10 MTPA capacity in Odisha.

Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) is reportedly seeking to commission new facilities with capacity of 3mn tonnes by the end of the next financial year.

V R Sharma, Deputy Managing Director & CEO for Steel Business "By 2015, our target is to have a total steel making capacity of 15 MTPA, that includes increasing the Shadeed plant at Oman to 2 MTPA. All the plants are under construction and the new units will get commissioned from the next financial year onwards."

According to reports, it includes commissioning of the first unit of its upcoming steel mill in Odisha's Angul with a capacity of 2mn tonnes per annum (MTPA).

JSPL is also setting up an iron ore beneficiation plant of 10 MTPA capacity in Odisha at an investment of Rs 10bn.
