JSW ISPAT Steel galloped 12.45% to Rs 12.37 and topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. Reportedly, primary steel producers have hiked steel prices by about Rs 500 per tonne, the third since 1 January 2012. The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 12 January 2012, rising 8.70% compared with the Sensex's 1.05% gain. The scrip, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 17.85% as against 5.43% fall in the Sensex.
Jaiprakash Power Ventures jumped 10.89% to Rs 39.20 and was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. Data released by the government on Thursday, 12 January 2012, showed that electricity generation rose 14.6% in November 2011 over November 2010.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 12 January 2012, falling 6.23% compared with the Sensex's 1.05% gain. The scrip, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 1.53% as against 5.43% fall in the Sensex.
Lanco Infratech spurted 9.78% to Rs 14.82. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 12 January 2012, rising 23.29% compared with the Sensex's 1.05% gain. The scrip, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 14.29% as against 5.43% fall in the Sensex.
Suzlon Energy advanced 8.72% to Rs 22.45 after its subsidiary, REpower Systems SE, won a contract to supply 10 wind turbines to Bradwell wind farm in the UK. The company did not disclose financial details of the deal. The announcement was made before trading hours today, 13 January 2012.
Motherson Sumi Systems gained 8.29% to Rs 155.40 and was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 12 January 2012, falling 3.53% compared with the Sensex's 1.05% gain. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 18.74% as against 5.43% fall in the Sensex.
