Krishidhan Seeds received overwhelming response from Gujarat farmers as it participated in the 'Krishimela' organised at Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav on the occasion of 25 years of completion of Umiyadham temple in Sidsar, Jamnagar district, Gujarat. The exhibition started from February 9 and will last tll February 13, 2012.
Narendra Modi, Chief Minister, Gujarat inaugurated the Mahotsav; Baba Ramdev also visited the event.
The first day of the inauguration witnessed around 50,000 – 60,000 enthusiastic farmers who visited Krishidhan Seeds stall, to update themselves with more information about the company and its produce. Krishidhan Seeds showcased its Pratik and Pancham cotton seeds to the farmers at Krishimela.
Present at the event were Regional Manager Sudhir Thakare, Krishidhan Seeds and Sagar Deshmukh, Manager, Product Promotion, Krishidhan Seeds who expect the number of farmers visiting the stall to go up to 15 - 20 lakhs in the remaining days.
Pratik and Pancham cotton seeds are tolerant to all major sucking pests, Helicoverpa and Spodopter with an average yield of 14 to 16 quintals per acre with a maximum potential of 19 to 22 quintals per acre respectively. While Pratik is recommended for central and south zone, Pancham is recommended for Central, South and North zone during Kharif and summer season.
