The company announced the results during trading hours today, 19 July 2012.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 77.64 points or 0.45% to 17,262.65.
On BSE, 9.18 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 2.91 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 47.60 and a low of Rs 46.40 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 54.40 on 17 February 2012. The stock had hit a record low of Rs 40.10 on 15 December 2011.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 18 July 2012, surging 8.88% compared with the Sensex's 2.87% rise. The stock had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 4.07% as against Sensex's 1.19% fall.
The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 1714.76 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
L&T Finance Holdings said healthy growth in profit after tax (PAT) was supported by strong growth in overall loan book and stable net interest margins (NIM).
L&T Finance Holdings said consolidated profit before tax (PBT) without considering the impact of provisioning against AP micro-finance portfolio rose 34.6% to Rs 196.04 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011.
L&T Finance Holdings said its loans and advances grew by 37.06% to Rs 26184.34 crore as on 30 June 2012 from Rs 19103.20 crore as on 30 June 2011 and by 2.07% from Rs 25670.59 crore as on 31 March 2012.
L&T Finance Holdings' ratio of gross non-performing assets (NPAs) (excluding Micro-finance business) rose to 1.37% of gross advances as on 30 June 2012 from 1.33% as on 31 March 2012. The increase in gross NPA was primarily as a result of stress in the economic environment, the company said.
L&T Finance Holdings ratio of gross non-performing assets (NPAs) (including Micro-finance business) stood at 1.63% of gross advances as on 30 June 2012 as against 1.8% as on 31 March 2012 and 2.26% as on 30 June 2011.
