Metkore Alloys & Industries has announced that it has signed a Metal Recovery Services Agreement with Harsco India, a subsidiary of Harsco Corporation, USA for recovering Ferro Chrome Metal from the slag generated at its plant in Tekkali. The metal recovery plant (MRP) has a capacity to process 2 lakh MT of slag per annum and will be initially set up in Tekkali.
The MRP will be shifted to the ferro alloy facility at Bishnupur in West Bengal after three years. The period of the services contract is seven years over which the plant is expected to process 1.4 million MT of slag to recover around 35ooo MT of metal. Harsco will be responsible for installation, operation and maintenance of the facility.
