NTPC has signed a joint venture agreement with Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDP) on 29 January 2012 with the objective of setting up and implementing 1320 MW coal based power plant(s) in Bangladesh to cater to the growing power requirements of Bangladesh. This project will be developed through a 50:50 joint venture company between NTPC and BPDP on Build, Own and Operate basis.
