Om Pizzas and Eats , the franchisee for Papa John’s Pizza, Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants and The Great Kabab Factory have announced the appointment of Sanjay Coutinho as the CEO of the Company.
Sanjay with more than 20 years experience in the Indian food and retail sector was until recently the CEO of Barista Coffee. Sanjay brings with him rich experience having been involved with Domino’s Pizza in its initial days and then with Baskin Robins. He brings with him a keen understanding of the Indian Quick Service restaurant (QSR) market as it continues to grow exponentially.
Announcing this, Faisal Jawad, Chairman of Om Pizza & Eats said “Sanjay’s coming on board as a CEO is a key appointment as we seek to rapidly scale up the Papa John’s Pizza and the Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants business over the next 2 years during which we see the restaurant count increasing from 35 today to more than 100 restaurants across tier 1 and tier 2 cities in India. Sanjay with his experience and knowledge of the Indian QSR business is expected to drive this rapid expansion plan.”
Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman of TVS Capital Funds Limited, a key investor in Om Pizza and Eats and its Director said, “Sanjay’s induction comes at a crucial juncture for the business and Sanjay was expected to leverage his experience over the years, in carving a niche for Papa John’s Pizza and Chilis Grill and Bar restaurants in the fast growing out of home consumption market.”
