According to the latest updates from India Pepper and Spice Trade Association (IPSTA), Kochi, Pepper arrivals in Kochi Mandi decreased to 60 quintals on Friday on 4th May 2012 from 100 quintals, meanwhile offtakes slumped to 30 quintals from 90 quintals as on Thursday.
Black Pepper for ready delivery in Kochi, closed Friday's trading session with negative note at Rs 38,300, down by Rs 500 and Un-Garbled pepper ended at Rs 36,800 per 100 kg, down by Rs 500 over last close.
The NCDEX Pepper May contract ended the session lower at Rs 37,430, down by Rs 755 or 1.98% over the last close. The contract traded in the range of Rs 37,040-38,200 per quintal.
