Pratibha Industries surges on new order win

Pratibha Industries jumped 6.59% to Rs 256.20 at 11:32 IST on BSE, after the company bagged an order worth Rs 58.85 crore.

The company announced the new order win before market hours on Thursday, 19 November 2009. Despite the order win, the stock had slumped 8.32% to Rs 240.35 on Thursday in a weak market.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 58.51 points, or 0.35%, to 16,727.14.

On BSE, 1.67 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 41,932 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock had hit a high of Rs 257.55 and a low of Rs 235.10 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 265.95 on 18 November 2009 and a 52-week low of Rs 47.40 on 10 December 2008.

The small-cap stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 19 November 2009, rising 7.76% as compared to the Sensex's 3.12% fall. It had also outperformed the market in the past one quarter, gaining 42.47% as compared to the Sensex's return of 13.34%.

The company's equity capital is Rs 16.69 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 256.20 discounts the company's Q2 September 2009 annualized EPS of Rs 25.50, by a PE multiple of 10.05.

The company has bagged the latest order from NTPC for circulating water and make-up water system civil works package for its Mauda super thermal power project. The project is to be executed within 21 months.

Pratibha Industries had on 18 November 2009 secured a contract worth Rs 294.30 crore from UP Jal Nigam, Meerut for a water supply project at Meerut. The project is to be executed within a period of 24 months.

Late last month, Pratibha Industries had secured a project from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for construction of multilevel parking with commercial development at New Delhi railway station and airport terminal of Airport Express Line. The project has a construction period of 15 months and a concession period of 30 years. The cost of construction is estimated to be around Rs 150 crore.

In early October 2009, Pratibha Industries bagged an order worth Rs 24.72 crore from GAIL (India) for supply of steel pipes for its Bawana-Nangal pipeline project.

Pratibha Industries had on 7 September 2009 secured a contract worth Rs 144.69 crore from Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, Mumbai for supplying, installing and maintaining of automatic water reading meters. The installation is to be executed within 12 months and thereafter the meters are to be maintained for a period of 60 months.

Pratibha Industries' net profit rose 0.4% to Rs 10.64 crore on 1.3% increase in net sales to Rs 197.07 crore in Q2 September 2009 over Q2 September 2008.

The company is engaged in the business of infrastructure and manufacture of submerged arc welded (SAW) pipes.
