Reliance Industries Limited, Flagship Company of Reliance Group has declared the benefits from Six Sigma deployment in the latest Annual Report. BMGI partnered Reliance Industries in their Six Sigma journey for several years and has actively supported the Six Sigma deployment in three of their manufacturing locations. RIL has been successfully generating huge benefits from the Six Sigma deployment YoY.
Six Sigma is a business management strategy that seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes.
In 2009, BMGI was selected as the ‘partner of choice’ amongst others to develop highly competent Black Belts (RCBB) with training capabilities as well as exposure to additional methodologies like Lean and DFSS to internalize the Six Sigma initiative.
Seven manufacturing locations participated in this initiative in the same year. RCBBs at almost all locations have successfully completed one wave of Green Belt training and project execution independently while some have started their second wave. Considering the huge success of this initiative, more competent RCBBs are being developed in 2010.
Atul Batle, General Manager – Six Sigma, Reliance Industries Ltd spoke on BMGI’s significant role in accomplishing these benefits - “BMGI’s training and project execution are completely world-class and hence we have chosen them as the ‘partner of choice’. Their consulting and training model is so rigorous and comprehensive that results are guaranteed in the most complex and trying problems.”
Commenting on the successful deployment of BMGI’s practiced Six Sigma methodology at Reliance Industries, Naresh Shahani, Founder and MD, BMGI said “We have closely worked with RIL professionals directly at their three manufacturing locations towards the successful implementation of this methodology.
Our aim is to constantly grow with our clients and keep building innovative solutions through Research and Development. Many Organizations are identifying the need to explore potential areas to continually improvise on their output. Six Sigma is a brilliant tool for a profit-oriented, competent organization. ”
