With the aim of encouraging vocational education as a key preference for students, Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC), an CSR initiative of Rustomjee Groupannounces its partnership with Edexcel, a major UK examination board that offers a variety of qualifications in formal and vocational sectors, to conduct the Business & Technology Education Council (BTEC) National Diploma in India.
Starting from July 15, 2012 at the RAGC centers, this vocational diploma course by the EDEXCEL Board, UK is apt for students who wish to pursue their choice of vocation, right after Grade 10 and will help students in exploring job opportunities in the areas of Construction, Hospitality, Electrical & Electronics and Vehicle Technology.
BTEC National Diploma, a job oriented qualification is a two year full time program and comprises of 600 hours of class room learning and 1,000 hours of practical training, that will enhance the specific skills, required by the respective industry. Any student who has completed SSC, ICSE, CBSE, NIOS or IGCSE can take up the BTEC National Diploma at RAGC.
The BTEC National Diploma at RAGC emphasizes on real life practical training, text books will be used for reference, but the course aims at teaching through practical methods and case studies. As part of the program, the students will also have to undergo internship in an industry which further hones their skills. A student who has completed a BTEC National Diploma from RAGC is immediately employable in the concerned trade of his / her choice.

The program is also recognized by universities, colleges, Industries and Professional bodies across 92 countries. The diploma is equivalent to the ‘A’-Levels or the IB Diploma that is considered as an entry point to the graduation courses in most of UK Universities.
After completion of the 2 years BTEC National Diploma program from RAGC, a student can pursue either a job in the trade of their choice or pursue the two years Higher National Diploma (HND) with RAGC, and later can take direct admission in the third year of the college degree program at UK / US and other International Universities. This will save cost of two years of staying abroad.
