At 2:16pm (IST), the BSE Sensex was at 17,201, up 57 points over the previous close. It had earlier touched a day’s high of 17,223 and day's low of 17,004. It opened at 17,186.

The NSE Nifty was quoting at 5,219 up 20 point sover the previous close. It had earlier touched a day’s high of 5,225 and a day’s low of 5154. It had opened at 5214.

RIL, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Tata Power, ONGC, HDFC, Maruti, Cipla, Tata Motors, are among gainers in Sensex and Nifty.

Bharti Airtel, BHEL , SBI, Hero MotoCorp, M&M, Jindal Steel,  are among losers in Sensex and Nifty.

The BSE Small-Cap index and BSE Mid-Cap index were trading flat.

FMCG, IT and HC indices are the gainers.

Trend in FII flows: The FIIs were net buyers of Rs.9.28bn in the cash segment on Monday while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers of Rs.2.33bn, as per the provisional figures released by the NSE.
 
The foreign funds were net buyers of Rs.6.42bn in the cash segment on Monday and the mutual funds were net buyers of Rs.828mn on Friday, according to the SEBI figures.
