Somany Ceramics Ltd, the Indian ceramics tile major, today entered a manufacturing and distribution arrangement with the best ceramic tile manufacturers from Italy; IRIS Ceramiche and FMG (Fiorano Modenese-MO) of GranitiFiandre Group (Castellarano-RE). Consequent upon this deal, Somany will market products manufactured under the Active technology across India.
According to this venture, Fiandre will look at a distribution arrangement with Somany Ceramics to sell ACTIVE Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic products in India, riding on Somany Ceramics’1400 strong distribution network & brand equity.
Internationally normed tests have confirmed that Active tiles are Self Cleaning as they are able to degrade the nitrogen oxides, thus allowing the improvement of air quality which we breathe in a relatively short time. On the reduction of Nitrogen Oxides, it is estimated that 1.000m2surface area of Active, radiated by sunlight or any other electric source of light, has an effect equal to that of 20 timber trees. Active tiles are also capable of reacting with the most common air pollutant molecules and hence provide antibacterial properties to the material.
