According to market sources, turmeric price in the Nizamabad mandi stood steady at Rs 4,700 per quintal. The arrivals in the Nizamabad mandi slumped to 8,000 bags from 12,000 bags.
Turmeric price quoted in the Erode mandi at Rs 3,500 per quintal, down by Rs 100 per quintal. The arrivals in the Erode mandi jumped to 25,000 bags from 20,000 bags. The Salem variety was trading at Rs 4,500 per quintal, down by Rs 100 per quintal.
In the Nanded mandi of Maharashtra, select quality quoted at Rs 5,200 per quintal. The Powder quality traded at Rs 4,500 per quintal.
In the Sangli mandi, Rajapuri variety quoted at Rs 5,000-5,500 per quintal and Desi Kadappa was quoting at Rs 4,500 per quintal.
The NCDEX Turmeric April contract moved in the range of Rs 4,654-4,830 and is currently trading higher at Rs 4,750 per quintal, up by Rs 64 or 1.37% per quintal.
