Turmeric arrivals in the Nizamabad mandi were steady at 500 bags and prices surged by Rs 300 to Rs 13,500 per 100 kg. The Erode mandi was closed today.
NCDEX Turmeric extended the gains with futures gaining higher more than one percent on heavy short covering. The benchmark September contract is currently trading higher by Rs 146 or 1.19 percent at Rs 12460 per 100 kg and the open interest is down 1.22 percent.
