This translates into a decline of close to 5%.
Total two-wheeler sales in May stood at 1.73 lakh units vs 1.81 lakh units sold in May 2011.
TVS Motors registered a year-on-year fall of 4.1% in its total domestic volumes in May 2012 at 153,195 units. Export volumes' fell last month by 12.8% yoy at 22,817 units.
Mopeds' volume grew 3% yoy at 70,125 units during May 2012 while that of scooters was up 1.7% yoy at 38,833 units. Motorcycle sales fell 15.2% yoy during the month at 64,134 units.
Three-wheeler volumes were lower by 27.7% on yoy basis at 2,920 units.
